Avra is located on the first Peninsula of Halkidiki (Kassandra), in one of the most picturesque seaside town, Nea Potidea. The canal that connects the two gulfs, Thermaikos and Toroneos, is the jewel of the area. The stunning view over the bridge and the turquoise waters of the canal appeals to all visitors. Remarkable is the traditional hospitality of the people that create the conditions to have a great visitor. It is famous for its historical monuments and its atmospheric sunsets. Greek restaurants, taverns (fish-taverns where you can enjoy some ouzo snacks), shops and beach bars are located along the pedestrian zone next to the beach, all you need for a pleasant walk and endless fun.

Abstains only 60km from the center of Thessaloniki and just 50 km from the Macedonia airport in Thessaloniki. Nea Potidea is divided into 2 settlements: the traditional village and the seaside settlement. As the traveler comes first sees the village with its central square, where take place several cultural events, the Church of St. George, remains of the fortifications, known as the Justinian Wall, are visible along the canal. Nea Potidea is blessed with two seafronts (two ports). One is facing west to the Gulf Thermaikos, overlooking Mount Olympus and the other facing east to Toroneos Gulf, overlooking Mt. Athos. On the eastern side of Potidea there is a lengthy coastline (2 km). The crystal blue waters here are well-deserved the blue flag of Europe. A place where you can experience unique landscapes (Kassandra, Sithonia ) and activities like scuba diving, water sports, fishing, cycling and Beach Volley, is definitely worth exploring.

Nea Moudania is the largest town and commercial centre in Halkidiki, just 6 km from Potidea, easily accessible by car or bus (frequent buses pass through Potidea).
